We began Mikaela's birthday with our annual tradition of breakfast at the Krispy Kreme!
There is nothing like a donut there when the "Hot" sign is on!
The kids love to watch each stage of the donut process - from the rising yeast, to the flipping in the grease, all the way to my favorite - the drizzle of the glaze.

Also, as tradition details - Mikaela got to open one present at breakfast.
She chose to open Xander's present. Xander gave her a book (a new pet fairies book), a webkinz dog (that was promptly named "Buffy"), a webkinz mousepad and some chapstick.
Of course, she had to put on the new chapstick right away!
Along for the ride on the birthday day was Dominic (affectionately called "Domi") - her new bitty baby! He had on his festive fourth of July outfit and enjoyed watching everyone eat donuts:).
