Even a Cowboy has to rest

When you're tired, you're tired.......

Pumpkin Patch

We spent Saturday afternoon at the Watkinsville Pumpkin patch.

We had the best time!

The kids both picked pumpkins for us (and one for the Nana too).

We did it all - rode the cow train, shot the pumpkin and corn, took every picture opp. they had, rode the hay ride (twice!), played in the corn box, hung out with the animals, raced the ducks, checked out the pigs..........raced the tricycles..........

I'm sure there's more - good family fun!

Good Morning Xander

Just a side note - video filmed BEFORE the 7:00 hour this morning.

When he is in therapy complaining about me years down the road, it won't be because I stifled his musical interests:)

Daisy Girl Scouts

We are several weeks into our new girl scout year.

Our troop has four returning girls, and two new girls. We are a total of six!

So far this year, we have worked on using a kaper chart (sort of a girl scout chore chart), learning how to open and close a meeting on our own (open with the promise, close with singing "Make New Friends" , passing the squeeze and turning out), and are earning new petals.

Jaden and Xavier come to Visit

Aunt Nikki and Uncle Bradley brought Jaden and Xavier to visit us on Tuesday afternoon.

Jaden had so much fun playing with our Halloween decorations. She has begun to imitate - and copied every sound we made!

Xavier is already growing so fast - was awake and looking around the whole time (four weeks old).

Doesn't Tommy look cute holding that baby???????

We Lost our Second Tooth!

Mikaela lost her second tooth, at home, on Sunday October 5th.

Rock Star Mikaela

Mikaela: "This song is about being with you."

Mommy: "Who's you?"

Mikaela: "I don't know."

We recorded that in the morning. by the afternoon she had already rewritten the lyrics:).

She would love to be Hannah Montana! We already have our rock star costume for halloween. She wouldn't settle for one of the store bought hannah costumes - she insisted that we create our own!

Tooth Fairy Time

Mikaela worked very hard to write the tooth fairy a note about her first tooth (covering all her bases - just in case that tooth got lost in the night!)

Mikaela Lost her First Tooth

By far the most exciting part of our trip to the zoo, was it was Mikaela's last outing with all her baby teeth!

"Mikaela has a loose tooth
a wiggly, jiggly, loose tooth
Mikaela has a loose tooth
and Daddy finally pulled it out!"

While in the gorilla exhibit (watching the adorable twin gorillas chase each other around - have to be boys:), climbing all over everything, teasing/taunting each other, etc.) - Mikaela let Daddy pull out her first tooth.

We were all celebrating, taking pictures, jumping up and down - surely the other guests thought we were a little over excited about the gorillas!

Zoo Atlanta

We spent the day at Zoo Atlanta on Saturday, September 27th for Educator Appreciation day (otherwise known as Daddy get in free day, and everyone else gets a discount day).

The weather was beautiful and we had a great day!

Mikaela loved the meerkats - http://www.zooatlanta.org/animals_meerkat.htm

Xander's favorite (and Daddy's too) was the snakes - http://www.zooatlanta.org/animals_snakes_wor.htm

Mommy loved watching the new panda cam - http://www.zooatlanta.org/animals_panda_cam.php4

The new panda was just a few weeks old - and so cute!
