Under the Big Top at the Kid's Museum!

We had a great time at Imagine It, the kids museum in Atlanta this week!

http://www.imagineit-cma.org/explore.html

The current theme is: Under the Big Top!

We got to watch a circus act, participate in the show, and try out the costumes/equipment/props after the show!

No matter how many times we go, the kids always act like we've never been there!

They are so excited to explore each and every exhibit.

I would say the market exhibit was a favorite this time - Xander loved being in charge of the cash register and telling everyone how much they owed him!

Mikaela had a great time with the moon sand - with the new flexible, silicone molds she was able to make more treasures than ever before!

Mom and dad always enjoy watching the excited faces, seeing the huge smiles and enjoying the sounds of children who like each other!

Painted Lady

For Mikaela's graduation from kindergarten, Nana gave us a butterfly garden kit. A few weeks later, our first caterpillar arrived - actually our first cocoons arrived - our caterpillars spun themselves into cocoons on their way to our home!

We waited and watched - and sure enough in a just a few days - our very own "Painted Lady" emerged!

She emerged on June 4th - how cool Mikaela thought as she herself emerged on July 4th!

We kept painted lady about a week, and on family night (with Aunt Ashleigh and Uncle Justin here to see) - we let her go.

She flew so high - so fast!

Memorial Day Fun

We spent Memorial day with friends - having a great time!

The kids did slip-n-slide, swam in the pool, played on the playground, and ran around the back yard - good clean, old fashioned fun!

We had our first introduction to volleyball, water balloons and badminton. We got to make ice cream in a ball!

A little fried chicken, corn on the cob and key lime pie. YUM.
