Memorial Day Fun

We spent Memorial day with friends - having a great time!

The kids did slip-n-slide, swam in the pool, played on the playground, and ran around the back yard - good clean, old fashioned fun!

We had our first introduction to volleyball, water balloons and badminton. We got to make ice cream in a ball!

A little fried chicken, corn on the cob and key lime pie. YUM.

Mikaela's Swim Lessons

If Xander is our fish, than Mikaela is definitely a Mermaid!

She has really taken to swimming - we just might have found a sport for our prima ballerina.

She is learning this year how to:

Scoop apples and make applesauce (swim using her arms)
Kick her feet (no big noisy knee splashes, good strong kicks)
Float/Swim on her back (Tickle your sides, make a T with your arm, and then SQUEEZE the water!)

Her goal is to swim, come up for air, take a second breath, and swim again!

Xander's Swimming Lessons

What a fish our little X Man has become this summer!

On our third day of swim lessons he says to me "No more drama Momma - I'm just going to get in t he pool and do what Ms. Jennifer says."

"Thank Goodness!" says the Momma!

New Pool!

For those of you familiar with our "Pandora's Pool" adventure of last year, you all know that Tommy has spent hours upon hours in our backyard creating a FLAT space for us to put up our pool this year. He has moved hundreds of wheelbarrows full of dirt in order to create a level land on our great hill.

As soon as he finished moving the dirt, we went to put up our pool from last year and discovered that while it sat on the driveway (I had cleaned it and was letting the sun dry it), our friendly neighborhood animals ate holes in it.

So, after all that work -a new pool we needed!

Our new pool went up in about a half hour, and was full in four hours! Success at last!

Reception

No one danced more than our family at the reception - we had the best time!

Mikaela and Xander loved dancing. Xander requested "more rock n roll" - Mikaela enjoyed anything she could spin around to in her fancy dress.

Here Comes the Bride!

Aunt Ashleigh's wedding was beautiful - we had the best time!

Before the Show

Rehearsal Dinner

Time to Rehearse!

Wedding Rehearsal!

Nail Party!

Mikaela went with the bridal party to have her nails done - turqoise nail polish with flower accents of course!

Celebrate Good Times!

After the graduation party, we had what was labeled (by Mikaela of course) as the "coolest party ever!"

For reference - to have a cool party you need:

One cookie cake - only pink icing will do

One new fish (ours is a beta, who has become affectionately named "Flounder")
