A Visit to Uncle Brian's House

We visited Uncle Brian at his house.

We had the best time - the kids played upstairs in Braedon's new room all morning.

Uncle Brian grilled out hotdogs for lunch - we had hotdogs, chips and cookies for dessert. What a treat!

The Atlanta Zoo

We spent our first full day of Spring Break at the Atlanta Zoo.

The kids had never been - they were so surprised! Mikaela (our big reader now) read the sign for Xander as we entered.

A combination of free educator day and coupons made the outing in our budget.

We had the best time!

The highlights:

Mikaela - loved the alligator (who knew?), the rock wall at the playground, and the baby orangutan.

Xander - loved the tigers (kept asking "where are the tigers?"), the train around the zoo, and eating lunch at the Little People table

Daddy - loved the reptile house- especially the snakes, and just hanging out with the kids

Mommy - loved watching the panda bears eat (they really are so cute!), and riding the carousel

Welcome Spring Break

We were so excited to begin our spring break!

The kids had two weeks off from school.

Tommy worked half days for one week (teaching intercession) and was off for a full week.

We kicked off our spring break with a family night - Family Performance Night.

The kids had a great time!

They played instruments, made up songs, and pretended to be their new favorite musical idols (Hannah Montana and High School Musical).

The Week of the Mohawk

For those of you who missed the week of the Mohawk haircut, well - you missed out!

Tommy promised his students that if certain percentage of them scored well on the big 8th grade writing test - that he would shave his head into a "Mr. T Mohawk."

They did.

He did.

Enough said.

Happy Easter - Part 2

We rode our bikes down to Nana's house to celebrate Easter.

We began with an Easter egg hunt. Nana's bunny hides eggs HIGH and LOW - so much fun! The kids ran around outside looking in Nana's flower garden, her birdhouses, and down by her pond.

We ate a yummy Easter dinner with all the family favorites - Xander's rolls, Mikaela's macaroni and cheese, Daddy's Honeybaked Ham turkey, and mommy's fresh green beans!

We began our morning - early. Very early.

Xander was up first - worried that maybe the Easter bunny forgot to hide the eggs. He didn't see any on the way into our room.

Mikaela woke next- excited. Unlike Santa who accepts requests, the Easter bunny is all about surprises!

The kids ran to their Easter baskets - and enjoyed all of their surprises.

Mikaela received Groovy Girls dolls, a new Fancy Nancy book, and a hello kitty pez dispenser.

Xander received the bat cycle, a cool new pirate book, and a batman pez dispenser.

The kids hunted for eggs. Boy, that Easter bunny should really count how many eggs he hides and leave a note. Days later, we were still finding hidden eggs:).

We spent our morning at church - the kids all dolled up in their Easter outfits. Daddy and mommy didn't look too shabby in their new clothes either.

Pirates and Princesses Party

Xander celebrated Wreyton's 4th birthday at her home with a Princess and Pirate party.

His favorite highlights were the pirate tatoo and the treasure hunt!
